Feel spiritually connected in your Friday Prayer - Grandawood Oud oil

I was pleased to meet my customer Ahmad who visited the West End Mosque, which is close to Brisbane CBD. Ahmad was a visitor from Melbourne. So I decided to describe this Holy Place today

The mosque is well maintained and has facilities for performing religious rituals such as bathing and Wuddu. It also offers Islamic literature for those interested in learning more about the faith. During the month of Ramadan, the mosque offers special meals for the nightly breaking of the fast. West End mosque is a welcoming place of worship for the local Muslim community in West End.

This building, which is boarded with rectangular timber and has a gable roof, is located right on the frontage of Princhester Street.

Its symmetrically arranged end elevation has a central doorway with a top light and two flanking windows, all of which have peaked tops and carved timber architraves.

Both doors and windows have timber sills. The building's corners showcase carved timber stops that align with the architraves, while the barge boards display a semi-circular motif. At the gable end, you'll find an exposed collar tie, king post, curved struts at truss level, and tapering finial and drop pendant.

A ventilator with rotating slats is located at the top of the tall end wall. Free-standing vents are situated on the right side near each end. The windows on the side walls have rectangular frames. The bottom halves of the double-hung sashes originally concealed slippery windows with aluminium frames. At the front of the building, above the entrance door, is a back-lit rectangular sign that reads 'ISLAMIC CENTRE OF WEST END' in English; there is an equivalent sign beneath it written in Arabic script.

Ahmad attended the Friday prayer session, Jummah Khutbah, around 12.30 pm. He used the Evergreen Superior on his left hand and the Middle Easterner Oud on his right hand.

When he prayed, the ouddy scent from his sleeves wafted to his nose, evoking him spiritually.

Ahmad told me he felt peaceful and focused while praying to Allah. The scent of the agarwood oil helped him to clear his mind and feel closer to God. He could fully surrender himself and focus on the words of the imam's sermon, feeling grateful for all of his blessings.

Oud is highly significant to a Muslim because not only is it mentioned in the holy Qu'ran, but it is also used in a religious practice such as prayer. The scent of Oud is believed to bring clarity and focus to the mind during prayer, making it an important component of spiritual devotion. In addition, Oud is also often used in perfumes or as pure oils for everyday use, complimenting personal self image and grooming, which is an important aspect of Islamic practices.
